What is the definition of a sprint in agile design?

A sprint is a short, time-boxed period (usually two to four weeks) within the agile development cycle during which the team works on a set of specific tasks, priorities and objectives. The purpose of a sprint is to deliver a functional product or service increment that adds value to the end-user. The team collaborates closely during sprints to develop the product, prioritize tasks, and identify and address any potential roadblocks or issues. At the end of each sprint, the team must deliver a working product or feature that is potentially shippable.
