What is a learner-centered classroom design?

A learner-centered classroom design is an approach to teaching and learning in which the needs and interests of the students are given primary consideration. The teacher acts as a facilitator and guides students in their own learning process, rather than being the sole authority figure. The design includes strategies such as group work, project-based learning, inquiry-based learning and personalized learning. This approach empowers students to take responsibility for their own learning and enables them to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills. Ultimately, learner-centered classroom design aims to create an engaging and supportive learning environment that meets the individual needs of all students.
