What is the difference between ceramic and porcelain tiles?

Ceramic and porcelain tiles are both made from clay and other natural materials, but porcelain tiles are denser and more durable than ceramic tiles. Porcelain tiles are fired at a higher temperature and are therefore less porous, making them more resistant to water and stains. Porcelain tiles are also more scratch resistant than ceramic tiles, which makes them ideal for high-traffic areas. However, porcelain tiles are typically more expensive than ceramic tiles, and they can be more difficult to cut and install.
