What is sustainable design?

Sustainable design is the practice of designing products, buildings, and environments in a way that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It focuses on minimizing the negative environmental impact of design solutions and maximizing positive social and economic outcomes. Sustainable design considers the entire life cycle of a product or structure, from raw materials and manufacturing processes to use, disposal, and recycling or re-use. It incorporates principles such as energy efficiency, resource conservation, waste reduction, and social responsibility to create long-lasting and environmentally-friendly solutions.
