What is a foam system?

A foam system is a fire suppression system that uses foam concentrate mixed with water to produce a foam solution. This foam solution is then delivered through fixed piping systems and discharged through foam nozzles or monitors to control, suppress or extinguish fires. Foam systems are commonly used in industrial and hazardous facilities like petrochemical refineries, aircraft hangars, and storage tanks. They are also used in municipal firefighting operations, such as airport firefighting, or large petroleum fire situations.
